Forests cover approximately 30% of this planet. Yet it is estimated that within the next 100 years there will be no rainforests. Yes, you read it right - no Amazons, no Congo or No Daintree! For that reason, there would be sparsely enough oxygen since 20% of world's oxygen is produced by the Amazon Rainforest.

On a daily basis, one and a half acres of forest cover is cut down every second i.e. every minute over 20 football fields are lost. Yes, you read that right. 

The loss of forest cover contributes to 12% - 17% emission of greenhouse gases.

The world has lost over 7.3 million hectare of its forest cover.

There are an incredible amount of trees and plant species found across these forests that are not only medicinally beneficial, but also absorb carbon and other by-products.

SOLUTION: Be active and plant trees. Plant them at your homes, in your backyards, within the confines of your societies or sectors. If you feel that's difficult, you can join any organisation keen on stopping deforestation.

TRUTH BE TOLD: The money to save trees is majorly collected online. You alone can manage to save up to 20 square foot of forest by online contributions. Interesting, right?
